Before founding the studio, Joshua created and led the first AI Language Experiences team in Microsoft 365 — uniting Microsoft Research, Azure AI, and Office product teams at a time when most didn’t believe AI was ready for end users.
He shipped intelligent translation, live captions, and writing assistance used by over 100 million people daily — years before LLMs and “AI-native” were common language.
Joshua left Microsoft to build Fluid, recognizing that Vision AI was finally ready to enable more natural ways of interacting with devices and apps — not through headsets or AR goggles, but through motion itself.
Not just gestures. Fluent, expressive, sci-fi-level motion control — the kind of interface the future was always supposed to have.
Fluid is now one of the active ventures within Segeren Studio.
Today, he advises founders, product teams, and investors on building AI-native software — and harnessing AI with speed, clarity, and conviction.
